Dear 12th grade Parents,

Welcome back. Spring has sprung and April 1 is behind us! Here are some
upcoming dates to be aware of:

1. Tuesday, April 3 Honoring Your Child While Appreciating Others

Parent Discussion on Socioeconomic Diversity, Robert Smith Meeting Room

Please join the Middle School Parent Association Diversity Committee, MS
Counselor Michelle Parker and MS Diversity Coordinator Kimberly Clarkson
for an evening discussion regarding socioeconomic diversity. This is one of
the issues parents identified for discussion during the recent diversity
climate study. The gathering will be in the Robert Smith Meeting Room. Food
will be available beginning at 6:30 pm, and the discussion will take place
from 7:00 to 8:45 pm. Please contact Margaret Johnson

2. Thursday, April 5 from 9:30 am to 10:15 am in the Robert L. Smith
Meeting Room, all Upper School parents are invited to attend the Upper
School Meeting for Worship.

3. On Monday, April 9 there will be no school due to the All School
Professional Day.

4. On Monday, April 16 there is a Math meet at Gonzaga. A bus will leave
SFS at 3:15pm for Gonzaga, and return to SFS at approximately 6:00pm. The
meet should end around 5:00-5:15pm.

Math Meets are a competition where area independent schools compete a few
times per year. *All* are welcome. There are two levels, one generally for
9th and 10th grade and another for 11th and 12th. Contestants solve
problems individually and the top scores are used by each school. SFS
provides transportation to and from the meets and students *are excused
from PE or athletics to compete*. A calculator is required for some of the
problems.

5. On Tuesday, April 24 SFS celebrates Founders Day

7. On Friday, April 27th the US Faculty & Staff Appreciation Brunch will be
held in the US Faculty Lounge, Time - 7:45am - 11:00am

*Looking Ahead.* The 2012 Senior Celebration is on June 2 and *w**e need
14 volunteers* to host the entertainment/game booths at the event from
6:00-8:00pm. It would be a great opportunity for interested Junior or
Senior parents to get an idea of what we are doing and to serve as a frame
of reference when they plan their event next year. All interested
