I am truly grateful that I was born an alcoholic and that my wife threatened to throw me out of the house unless I sobered up. Those two factors (I believe both were God’s doing) caused me to come into AA, where I found spirituality and true appreciation for life. God has a plan for me–I had to get sober to realize that and to be grateful She’s in charge, not me. As Jim Palumbo once said–the fact the sun goes down and comes up every day is all the proof he needs of the existence of a Higher Power–as he pointed out: here was an example of a regular occurrence that he had nothing to do with.
