Below are a few questions I will be asked while on a panel for CSIS Executive Council on Development this Monday. I was hoping your team could provide some talking points that sync with our message at WFP US. Let me know what you think.

You are in business, but have been around government your whole life, and you have a deep interest in development, serving as the chairman of World Food Program USA. Can you talk about the role of development in foreign policy, as you see it?
You have seen areas where business interventions - technology, resources and ideas - could help development, and improve government approaches to development efforts. Can you talk about ways in which the private sector can build upon and improve government efforts, or be more effective at promoting economic growth than government programming?

Many people within this group have mentioned the importance of agricultural development as an important building block of economic growth, and we have discussed the importance of ensuring that U.S. efforts really do reduce poverty, for example, as agricultural development efforts are designed to do. Can you please share a few thoughts about the importance of ensuring that our development efforts are broad-based and reach the poorest people?
