Good news! US News & World Report wants it. No edits from them so far (fingers crossed that doesn't change). They need everybody to sign the attached agreement (which basically says that they get this piece exclusively). I'll sign on all of your behalf (unless you object!) and get your head shots to them. Stay tuned for more. -Erin -----Original Message----- From: Glickman, Dan [mailto:Dan.Glickman@aspeninstitute.org] Sent: Wednesday, February 03, 2016 10:33 AM To: M.J. Thanks for your very hard work on this. It is disappointing that none of the media targets thought this was worth publishing, since I think there was real news value here. A terrific trip. Some thoughts and possible lessons. Perhaps it is worthwhile securing a commitment with a media outlet to publish a piece like this before the trip commences, particularly if there is a hook for some specific action to be taken which we recommend, or a specific call to an action by government. It may be that the article needed in addition to the humanitarian perspective the oped needed more of a regional or national security focus. That the survival of the Government of Jordan (and Lebanon) is really at stake and that poses a clear and present danger to the U.S. And the area becomes more of a breeding ground for terrorism and ISIS. Nonetheless, we can use a Huff Post piece to help us in our lobbying and advocacy. Sent from my iPhone > On Feb 3, 2016, at 9:13 AM, M.J. We're going to make one final pitch to U.S. News & World Report today. If they don't bite by COB, it will be published on our Huffington Post channel first thing tomorrow morning. > > Thank you for your patience and taking the time to share your experience for this piece.
