Just got your text. Your talk and your dad's talk were much appreciated and so thoughtful. I wanted to send this along to share a little bit about what my experience was with Beau. He was so proud to be a Biden, as you are. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Buzzy Trusiani <buzzy.trusiani@gmail.com> Date: Tue, Feb 2, 2016 at 12:08 PM Subject: Buzzy Trusiani To: Hunter Biden <hbiden@rosemontseneca.com> Dear Hunter- Please share this note with your dad, if you wish. I have been thinking about your words and your dad's words spoken last Friday evening, and I wanted to share a little something with you that I trust you both already know, which is just how proud Beau was to be a Biden, as I am sure you are as well. My experience with Beau was a little different than perhaps many peoples' experiences for a number of reasons. It may be because of the two settings in which I spent the most time with him, sharing accommodations at Patrick Steel's wedding on Edisto Island and a suite in New Orleans a month earlier at Patrick's bachelor week-end. I distinctly remember when I told him that your dad was my favorite Senator, and why. He was humble at first, likely having listened to such talk many times. Eventually, after I had shared my inner-political-nerd, he laughed and told me that your dad was also his favorite Senator. We talked, etc... he trusted that his expression of family pride was safe. As you both pointed out, he was great at turning the subject away from himself and refocusing on his friends. True. But my experience was that he also wanted to have an opportunity to share how much he dreamed of stepping into those Biden shoes and contributing to making his place in the world and making the world a better place. He was humble, gracious, and never boasted. But I want you to know that he was so very proud to be a Biden. He may have put the name "Russell" on his uniform in Iraq to receive no special treatment, but he only was able to do such a thing because he was a Biden. I am 100% confident that you already know this, but I just wanted to reinforce that point from my perspective. My hope is that this humble UPenn scholarship in Beau's name might just be a seed that grows into much more, such as a Biden School for Public Policy. Hope to see you around campus... Your friend, Buzzy Trusian
