Sir, Julia Quinn will reach out to you about Amtrak hosting Michelle Obama/Jill Biden and other dignitaries in Oakland California, February 26 to recognize your leadership and Amtrak's achievement on vets hiring. My point of view is we do this only if you can be there. So the issue is your availability. McHugh would see if there are alternate dates if you can't be there but seems less likely for them to attend if we don't hit their schedule. Joe has talked to DJ and deem Oakland a good place to hold this as a meeting site if it needs to be California plus two Board members living there as well

Anthony –

Sorry for the delay in responding to you. We have two large facilities in California--one in Oakland and the other in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles facility has the most employees and has a good cross section of veterans. Two of Amtrak’s Board members live in the Los Angeles area and the facility we have is well set for an event of this type. In addition to Amtrak services, the facility also maintains equipment for the state-supported San Diego-Los Angeles-Santa Barbara service. Other large facilities are located in Seattle, Indianapolis, Miami, Wilmington, New York City and Chicago. Perhaps we could schedule a call next week to talk about your ideas and make sense of when we would be able to do this.
