I listened to Hunt’s wonderful eulogy a few days after the funeral and it really made me think back to how I viewed Beau when we were children. What Beau was and became as a man is exactly what I thought of him so many years ago when we were kids. I remember both the good times with Beau and Hunt along with the bad times and Beau was always the one taking care of others and not worrying about himself. The first memory that I have as a child goes back to the evening that Matthew was born but the second memory that I have is visiting Beau and Hunt at both the hospital and at your parents home. I seem to remember him being the strong one even though he was in almost a full body cast and had just lost his Mom and sister. Thank goodness you were there to help them through those times and really be their Mom as they grew into Men. > > Beau was so protective and caring for Hunt. I remember the good times of baseball, soccer, and going to various Camps including Camp Tochwogh and spending time together. I also remember how he took charge at Camp Tochwogh when Hunt fell out of the top Bunk. Beau took charge of Hunt’s care there and seemed to always be the caretaker of not only his brother but of everyone. It sounds like he continued to be that person through the way he lived his personal and public life. He was someone that looked out for those that really had no one to look out for them. > > I know Beau and Hunt are your own children and Beau passing less than a year ago has to be one of the worst things that you have had to experience since the last tragedy. I have not had that type of pain in my life to understand what you are going through but all that I can think about is that Beau is now sitting up in Heaven looking out for all of us. > > I think about Beau literally a few times a week since his passing. I really never thought about him except when I got updates from my Mom in the past. His death really makes me reflect often on my own life which is a good thing. He is always in my prayers and I hope that you and your family are able to celebrate his life today and realize how much he really effected the ones he knew and even the ones he did not know. > > Love, > > Jim >=2
