<p style="margin-top: 0px;margin-bottom: 1em"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">I write with very mixed emotions to announce that Director of College Counseling, Laurén Carter, will be leaving Sidwell Friends as of June 2016 to join the College Counseling Team at Episcopal High School. As many of you are aware, Laurén currently resides on the Episcopal campus with her family and has become an active member of their boarding school community. Her decision to leave Sidwell Friends was not made lightly, and she wishes for me to extend her heartfelt appreciation to each of you as she has greatly enjoyed her time with us.</span></p>

<p style="margin-top: 0px;margin-bottom: 1em"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Laurén has been an invaluable member of the Upper School administrative team. In the three years she has served as Director of College Counseling, Laurén’s vision, leadership, and compassion have transformed our college counseling program. She has also served on several committees, including the Calendar and Scheduling Committee, the Upper School Principal Search Committee, and the AIMS Steering Committee. Laurén will be sorely missed!</span></p>

<p style="margin-top: 0px;margin-bottom: 1em"><span style="font-family: Calibri, sans-serif; background: white;">Sidwell Friends will be conducting an exhaustive national search to find Laurén’s successor and a search committee will soon be formed to begin this work. Students, parents, faculty, staff, and administrators will all have the chance to meet the finalists and provide feedback. Bryan Garman and I will carefully weigh your views in making the final appointment.</span></p>
