Tuesday - May 25, 2010 From the School This Week's Query Query: What is popularity? Notes from Sally The 7/8 Choral and Orchestral concert is this week. There are performances Wednesday evening at 7:30 and Friday afternoon at 1:45. Parents are welcome at either show! The final day of school is Friday, June 11th. This is a full day for Middle School. The Kenworthy Gym will close for construction on Friday, June 11th. All PE lockers MUST be emptied no later than Wednesday, June 9th. Also, anything that is left in the Lost and Found in the gym will be donated after that date. Please send students to track down their belongings! The Middle School Lost and Found bin is also brimming with items that need to be claimed. We are looking for Parent Volunteers to work in the office next year. Please contact Carlene if you would like to help out, and let her know what time slots work best for you. Middle School yearbooks will be distributed during the last week of school. Anyone who has missing library books or unpaid fines will not receive a yearbook until those are cleared. Sixth grade laptops will be collected on Monday, June 7th, and 7th grade laptops will be collected on Wednesday, June 9th. Students should turn in the computer, the bag, the power brick, and the stylus. Students will be charged for missing items in accordance with the Acceptable Use Agreement that students and parents signed at the beginning of the year. Two notes to sixth grade parents: There have been some questions about the World Expo projects. Much of this work is being done at school and is already completed. Some students do have project work that is due as part of their regular homework assignments, but they should have clear information about this. Also – regarding language choices: the language that students are choosing for 7th grade is a two-year commitment, for 7th and 8th grade. The program in all languages for these two years comprises Level I of the language. If students wish to change, they should plan on that for 9th grade. Please feel free to call the office or Jean Higbie if you have any questions.
