Here's a wild stat: This week, Congress will hold close to 30
hearings just on federal spending for the coming year, including
several with cabinet secretaries testifying.


That's a lot of noise - but today, I hope they're
listening as more than 500 influential leaders from across the country
have come to Washington for the USGLC's State Leaders Summit,
ready to tell their stories to lawmakers on the importance of
diplomacy and development.
