The latest installment in the JVC Northwest awareness campaign about the importance
of AmeriCorps
As you gear up to welcome summer and look ahead to sunny adventures, we want to
recognize that service for Jesuit Volunteers continues throughout these summer
months. This month, consider taking action to help continue the vital service in
JV communities and across the U.S., made possible through AmeriCorps:

Did You Know? For every $10 invested in CNCS by the federal government, another
$15 is raised from private sources to fund CNCS's important programs that address
community challenges and lessen dependence on government.

Without our AmeriCorps Partnership:

* The cost of a JV may double for partner agencies, depending on the locale.
* The JV applicant pool may decrease in number without the AmeriCorps Segal Education
Award provided to JV AmeriCorps members
* The JV applicant pool could become less diverse if we cannot directly recruit
through the AmeriCorps website
* Partner Agencies may not benefit from Capacity Building projects which have been
undertaken by JV AmeriCorps members to increase the effectiveness and efficiency
of services
