Not sure if you guys are going to South Africa for World Cup (mati and I
will be in capetown for quarter and semi-finals).


Ashley Jansen (daughter of Carol Carpenter) is a very close friend of
ours. She is very close with an incredible south African family that has
become internationally well known for their conservation efforts. They
are HUGE Joe Biden fans. If you guys and your parents are interested in
meeting them at world cup or going to their game farm

Normally I wouldn't pass this along but the Varty family is one of the
most incredible in south Africa and the same can be said about their
lodge.

below is the email i received from my south
african friend, boyd. As you can see, he and
his dad would love to meet with Joe and even
have him and the grandkids out to Londolozi for
a safari. of course he'd have you and mati too
but i'm guessing you're already booked.

Here's what I can tell you about the Varty family:
They virtually single-handedly restored a 6,000 hectare
"farm" (read: game park) that had been completely
depleted. Through their passion and sheer will,
they did the work so that the dried up river flowed
once more and the animals came back. They are a
living, thriving example of how to restore an eco system.
Dave Varty (Boyd's father) is incredibly charming and
has tells stories unlike anyone I've ever encountered,
detailing this plane crash there, this elephant stampede
there, having the Saudi Prince visit moments after
a baboon had gotten into his suite and crapped everywhere.
Nelson Mandela has been to their home for dinner. etc..
and on and on it goes.

Anyway, you know I would only ask for you help in
setting this up if I thought it would be amazing for Joe,
too. I know in my heart he will be completely taken
by the Vartys and their passion to heal the world.
