Yesterday Governor Reynolds said “Democrats want the state to fail.”

That is untrue, divisive, and makes it harder for two parties to work together to solve problems.

Democrats didn't want Iowa to fail when they created our incredible community college system in the 1960s.

Democrats didn't want Iowa to fail when Governor Tom Vilsack created the Vision Iowa program that helped economic development in small towns. The list goes on.

I didn’t want Decorah to fail when, as a high school student, I stepped up and led the effort to build a skatepark.

I didn't want Cedar Rapids to fail when, as a Iowa Law student ten years ago, I organized law students to volunteer 1,000 hours to flood recovery.

I didn’t want Iowa to fail when I prosecuted sexual predators and financial corruption for over 7 years as Assistant Attorney General.

I don’t want Iowa to fail as the next State Auditor. When someone does that entire job, we will save hardworking Iowans' tax dollars.

Please step up and show that you don’t want Iowa to fail chip in here $25? $50? $100?
