After more than 6 years of Republican obstructionism and tone-deaf amendments, Senate Democrats were finally able to bring this critical piece of reproductive justice legislation to the floor.

This groundbreaking reproductive rights bill would require every insurance policy that covers maternity care to also cover abortions, protecting every woman’s right to make the best choice for herself and her family.

Every woman should be able to decide for herself if, when and with whom to start or grow a family. No woman’s pregnancy decision should be affected by an inability to pay for care. The Reproductive Parity Act would be the first law in the nation to ensure that the ACA’s abortion provisions would not affect any woman’s reproductive health coverage in Washington.
