You told us what matters most to you - and we got to work on
day one. With our new Senate majority, we have already started
moving on legislation that will combat workplace discrimination
and harassment, revitalize voting rights, reform campaign finance
and dark money in politics, increase environmental protections
and aid student loan debt - that’s all since session began on
Monday!

Now, the legislative process can take time - which is why it
was so important that we hit the ground running on your
priorities. Here are highlights of some of the bills we began
moving through the Senate in the first five days of session:

Enacting the Washington Voting Rights Act of 2018 (SB
6002)and extending the period for voter registration (SB 6021)

Increasing transparency of campaign contributions (SB 5991)

Enforcing the #EqualPayAct, which guarantees workers are
compensated fairly and equally for their work regardless of their
gender (SB5140)

Encouraging the disclosure and discussion of sexual
harassment and sexual assault in the workplace (SB 5996)

Establishing a Student Loan Bill of Rights (SB 6029)

Preventing harassment, intimidation, and bullying in public
schools (SB 5766)

months as we gear up to make our progressive agenda a reality for
