Girls Club & Select Teams: The girls club and select teams have also started their winter team training sessions to get their sticks ready for the spring season. We work to get each PLAYER better in the winter months so we can focus on team development in the spring. The DC Express 2022 Black team competed in the Capital Box Lacrosse Classic last weekend going 4-0 and WINNING the AA division! Bethesda Lacrosse Clinics The Winter Intro Clinics - boys and girls - are in full swing and the players are getting the fundamentals down because of tons of touches on the ball (i.e. reps) and a great coaching staff. Thank you to the coaches and to our clinic directors - Allie Mullen and Curt Brooks. These players will be ready to hit the field this spring and join a team and we can't wait for them to participate and enjoy that part of our program. Will be FUN! Spring Scooper and Intro Clinics (boys and girls) are now open and ready for all that are interested. Check out our clinic webpage HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO REGISTER. Reps and competition = improvement and FUN! Fun and engaging drills are key to clinic success! These smiles say a LOT! Working on athleticism as well! Bethesda Coach Spotlight - Lisa Anzelone Each month - we will introduce you to one of our coaches in the organization so you can get to know some "interesting" things about them off the field when they are not wearing the coaching whistle. This month - Lisa Anzelone (Head Coach of our Girls 2027 Club Team and Bethesda Girls Club Commissioner) is up! Coach Lisa Anzelone's Favorites: Lacrosse playing or coaching memory: One of the most vivid & meaningful Lax memories I have, took place back in middle school when I first began playing. I was not instantaneously hooked...the game was fun, but much harder then the other sports I had taken on. Watching the varsity players make it look so easy worried me...it was not easy! Then one day at practice, during a scrimmage, my teammate passed me the ball and it slid neatly into my stick and stayed there as I sprinted up the field towards the goal! Finally, it clicked! I can remember feeling a sense of accomplishment and relief...that’s when I got hooked on this very cool game. Movie: Stand By Me TV Show: Seinfeld Book: Hunger Games Professional Sports Team: New York Jets Athlete: Bethany Hamilton, what an inspiration! Food: New York Pizza Finally - what celebrity you would want to have dinner with: Billy Joel Coach Lisa Anzelone after a championship run!
