First of all, Happy New Year. See email below. I am a Senior Fellow at the Bipartisan Policy Center (founded by Senators Dole, Daschle, Mitchell and Baker). We are hopeful that your dad will seriously consider receiving our Congressional Patriot Award on March 1. The specifics are in the email Below but it would be a great honor if he could be part of our 10 year anniversary. Best, Dan Sent from my iPhone Begin forwarded message: From: Julie Anderson <JAnderson@bipartisanpolicy.org<mailto:JAnderson@bipartisanpolicy.org>> Date: December 30, 2016 at 2:31:49 PM MST To: "Glickman, Dan" <Dan.Glickman@aspeninstitute.org<mailto:Dan.Glickman@aspeninstitute.org>>, Secretary Dan Glickman <dglickman@bipartisanpolicy.org<mailto:dglickman@bipartisanpolicy.org>> Subject: FW: BPC Congressional Patriot Award Dan- I’ve been having computer troubles all week, but finally got an email off to Steve Ricchetti. We also mailed a hard copy of the invite to Biden as well as emailed the scheduler. If you feel comfortable shooting a note to Hunter Biden that would be great. Hope you are having a great time in Sun Valley! Hopefully, the office has received a hard copy of the attached invitation, but I wanted to reach out and let you know that we would like to award the Vice President with the BPC Congressional Patriot Award. The inaugural award was presented to Reps. Sam Johnson and John Lewis last year at an event at the Library of Congress (below is a link to a description of the event). In 2017, we are holding a large event on March 1st at the Newsuem as part of BPC’s 10th Anniversary celebration. If the date works, we would love to present the award to the Vice President on the 1st (we have flexibility in the day – any time after 3pm into the evening). If that date does not work, we would be happy to develop options that work for the Vice President. In addition, I also want to make sure that you, the Vice President, and any interested staff received an invitation to our January 5th reception to celebrate enactment of the CURES Act. The reception will take place in the Mansfield room in the Capitol between 4:30 and 6pm next week. Sen. Frist and Rep Bart Gordon – BPC’s Medical Innovation co-chairs – are hosting the reception and we have the key sponsors, Speaker Ryan and other members attending. Hope you are finding some time to enjoy the holidays as the final days wind down. Thanks, Julie http://cdn.bipartisanpolicy.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Congressional-Patriot-Award-Dialogue.pdf
