In a true demonstration of bipartisanship, the Senate passed the 21st Century Cures Act on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 in a vote of 94-5. The bill, which supports significant investment in innovation and research at the National Institutes of Health and the Food and Drug Administration to allow doctors to tailor treatments to patients, to find new cures and treatments for neurological disorders and brain diseases, and to address mental illness and opioid abuse, included 14 of Bipartisan Policy Center's 19 recommendations noted in our most recent Health Innovation report.

To celebrate BPC's role in this bipartisan legislation, we will be hosting a reception on January 5th in the Mansfield Room of the U.S. Capitol.
