March, days after giving birth..

March and Crouton...Two Lives Saved by Homeward Trails.....
Marchis a Amstaff mix who came to us via private plane after she ended up in a rural
North Carolina shelter about to give birth. Without rescue, her 8 pups would have
been born on a cold concrete floor subjected to the loud, unsanitary environment
of an underfunded, rural shelter. Luckily, she made her way to HT and days later
had 8 beautiful puppies. Donations from supporters like you later allowed HT to
cover the $5,000 bill we incurred when two of her puppies became critically ill.
They are now recovering and will

soon be adopted. March is still looking for a home, but doing great in foster.
Crouton came to us after a Baltimore police officer found him wandering in an
abandoned building with a gaping neck wound. HT partnered with our friends in Baltimore
to get him immediate vetting at nearby Palisades Animal Hospital in DC and soon
his painful recovery began. It seemed that poor Crouton had been horribly abused
(perhaps attempted strangulation) causing his terrible wound. Your donations helped
us give him the very best care and he was soon adopted.

Crouton all healed up...
