Message from Lee
Yesterday, we honored four members of the Upper School Faculty who are retiring at the end of this school year. Susan Banker, George Lang, Paula Wang, and Susan Wooden represent 162 years of outstanding service to SFS, and the Upper School will not be the same without them. We thank them for everything they have given to our community and we wish them the very best in their next adventures.

At the Senior Meeting for Worship this past Sunday, many tender reflections were shared by seniors and parents about their experience as members of this community. On behalf of the Upper School, I would like to thank everyone - students, parents, faculty, staff, alums, trustees, and many others who support the School - for all of your contributions to the exciting and rewarding journey that we enjoy together.
Final grade reports and comments for exam and/or semester grades C- or below will be posted online on Tuesday, June 17. Students who have missing library books, athletic uniforms or any other outstanding obligations will not have grade reports posted. Please check with Jane Lenherr at lenherrj@sidwell.edu if you cannot see your child’s report. Student schedules will be posted online at the end of July. Upper School offices will be open most of the summer but will be closed from Monday, August 4 to Friday, August 15 for vacations and all questions and/or concerns will be addressed when the offices reopen on Monday, August 18. In an emergency, please contact the school’s main number at 202-537-8100.

Send submissions to PA.USNewsletter@sidwell.edu by 2 pm Tuesday, and reference "Newsletter Submission" and the publish date(s) in the subject line (limited to 3 weeks). Items should be submitted as text in the body of the e-mail and should be succinct. If you have a form or flyer to include with your submission, please send it as a PDF attachment. The editor on duty will confirm receipt of all submissions -- if you do not receive a confirmation within a reasonable time period, your submission may not have been received. Lastly, if it becomes necessary to modify a submission previously sent or published, please send a redline or otherwise clearly indicate the change to be made.
Note Concerning the School Calendar: The calendar entries that appear in the right column of each Newsletter are automatically generated by the official school calendar and are not subject to editing by the Newsletter Editors.
