For most of these visits, an OLA subject matter expert (SME) will accompany the group and serve as your direct liaison. CDR Ross can connect you with the assigned OLA SME early on in the planning stages. The OLA SME will provide details on specific areas of interest and help tailor messages to ensure alignment with Navy's current discussion/position.

Your local Congressional delegation may also request visits to your base and/or command. These members have a strong interest in learning about the general Navy footprint in their districts and the economic impact of our presence. We strongly encourage you to support these visits as well as including leadership participation whenever possible. During these and other local/state government delegation visits, OLA will not be escorting because it is not legally permitted. Your command will be expected to provide the necessary supporting elements for these visits. Typically, the schedule of events is comprised of a basic command brief and tour of tenant commands. CHINFO and OLA can still help by providing the latest key messages to emphasize during these types of engagement.

While we try to avoid last minute visits, sometimes it is necessary and requires a quick turn. OLA is here to assist you when this happens. For further information or details, please contact CDR Ross (gary.ross3@navy.mil or 703-695-0395).

v/r, CAPT Cutler

If you would rather not receive future communications from Navy Office of Information (CHINFO), let us know by clicking here.
Navy Office of Information (CHINFO), Department of the Navy 1200 Navy Pentagon--Room 4B463, Washington, DC 20350-1200 United States
