Poll: Hillary Clinton most popular pol - POLITICO.com Print View

Hillary Clinton is more popular than other national politicians including President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Marco Rubio, a poll released Friday showed.

According to a survey from Quinnipiac University, the former secretary of state bests a slew of leading national figures when it comes to popularity. Clinton has a 61 - 34 percent favorability rating among American voters, the poll said, while her former boss, Obama, clocks in at 51 - 46 percent favorability.

Clinton, considered a top choice for the 2016 Democratic presidential nod, also outpaces other possible presidential contenders on both sides of the aisle. Biden’s favorability rating comes in at 46 - 41 percent and Rubio (R-Fla), who will deliver the GOP response to next week’s State of the Union, comes in at 27 - 15 percent favorability, with 57 percent of those surveyed saying they don’t know enough.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), the 2012 vice presidential nominee, has a favorability rating of 34 - 36 percent, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush stacks up at 25 - 29 percent favorability, with 45 percent who don’t know enough about him to form an opinion.

The survey of 1,772 registered voters was conducted Jan. 30-Feb. 4 and has a margin of error of plus-or-minus 2.3 percentage points.
