Dear R.hunter,

As the sun shined over the Capitol on Monday, I sat with pride and
envisioned the course we must chart to continue to move our
country forward.

Our President couldn't have said it better: "For now decisions are
upon us, and we cannot afford delay. We cannot mistake absolutism
for principle, or substitute spectacle for politics, or treat name-calling
as reasoned debate."

It's time for us to turn the page on the suffocating politics of the past.

No more obstructionism. No more political games. We must act now.
It's time we get to the people's work.

As we kick off our new session, I've heard from many people up and
down Delaware and across the country about what issues they would
like to Congress confront this year. When a common answer has been
"anything," you know we have a problem.

If it were up to you, what would you like to see the new Congress
tackle in 2013?

I'm determined to push Congress to move forward on so many issues.
Here are just a few:

- Economy, Jobs & the Budget: Invest in our workforce to boost our
economy and focus on sensible solutions to reduce our deficit.
- Energy: Build a clean-energy future for Delaware and our nation to
create jobs and strengthen the innovation economy.
- Justice & Equality: Fight for women's rights, LGBT equality, an
mmigration policy that doesn't punish those who want to contribute
to our country, make voting easier and more secure, and stand
strong in support of human rights.
- Security: Safeguard our communities by providing first responders
with the tools to do their job and support a more comprehensive
approach to ending gun violence.
- Education: Invest in our country's greatest promise -- our children --
and provide them with the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
