> To Whom it May Concern:

> I am writing a letter of recommendation on behalf of Claire Hubert, who is applying for undergraduate admission to Georgetown University. I had the pleasure of meeting with Claire while she was in Washington D.C. for the National High School Journalism Convention. She serves as Editor-In-Chief for her high school's yearbook, which is a nationally renowned publication. Claire is interested in several undergraduate programs at Georgetown, including international relations, engineering, economics, and has a particular interest in the Walsh School of Foreign Service.
>
> Claire is an extremely mature, intellectual, and worldly young woman who is very well versed in current events. Her desire to attend Georgetown is based on the tradition and community aspect of the University, which she finds especially appealing. While meeting with her I learned she has a serious commitment to the Jesuit principle of “living one’s life for others.” She tutors weekly for Kirkwood High School’s chapter of the National Honor Society, she teaches cello to elementary and middle school students, and she volunteers with two parishes in the St. Louis Area. She has taught Public School Religion classes weekly at St. Peter Parish since her freshman year, and is also a member of the LifeTeen youth group at Incarnate Word Parish where she has volunteered to serve meals to the homeless in downtown St. Louis. This past summer she also participated in a week-long service camp with this youth group where they repaired houses and landscapes in one of the city's depressed neighborhoods.
>
> Claire's high school resume is impeccabIe. She has challenged herself at every level academically by taking the most aggressive course load possible, a rigorous mix of AP and Honors level courses, where she has excelled with a 4.0+ GPA and a top percentage class ranking. Plus, she was a four-year softball player and a four-year member of Kirkwood High School's Symphonic Orchestra, where she has performed at the Lincoln Center in New York City.
>
> I am convinced her desire to serve others and grow intellectually would be a benefit to the Georgetown community. Additionally, the opportunities Georgetown provides to its undergraduates would be a benefit to her. This is a student who would seize every opportunity placed in front of her and who would become a leader in our community.
