Dear Members of the Board, As I am sure you are aware, the Ebola virus is rapidly spreading across West Africa, and it's caused more than 5,400 deaths so far. Alongside the World Health Organization and other partners, WFP is working to provide food, medical supplies, and volunteers for families and communities stricken by the disease in Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia. On Wednesday at 11am EST, WFP USA has the opportunity to speak with Martin Penner, longtime WFP Communications Officer, on his recent journey to West Africa in efforts to help those in need. I hope you'll join us for a phone call as we get a special inside look into an unprecedented emergency operation where WFP has not only fed more than 1.5 million affected people, but has also led the logistics cluster to fly humanitarian workers and medical supplies in and out of the region. We've invited corporate partners and individual donors to join the call as well. Additionally, if you have any questions you might want to raise with Martin, please feel free to send them to lparks@wfpusa.org<mailto:lparks@wfpusa.org>. Full details available below.
