He told us that he would support and advance forward to the School Board a recommendation that we should open the school serving grades 4-8, with an option to open the high school program if we develop a firm partnership with a local university. We are working with his staff on the details of this recommendation. He feels confident that the board will support him. This is good news, and even "great" news, if Thornton's prediction is correct. We are considering how we shore up support on the board-----just to ensure the best outcome. The next School Board meeting is on December 9th. Our board is scheduled to meet the following Saturday, on the 13th. Meanwhile, we are pushing full steam ahead on several fronts: school building, recruiting a principal, recruiting families, fundraising and finalizing our new marketing materials. We are exactly 8 months away from our Summer Teacher's Institute and orientations for students and families. We can see the light at the end of this tunnel. Thanks to you, we are winning and moving forward. Also, we urge you to make your annual gift so that we have 100% participation from the board. Many grant applications ask about board giving. Our participation for this year hovers at 25%. Go here<http://www.baltimorecollegiate.org/support.html> to give on line or send a check to the address below. Thanks.
