Hello everyone, During the rowing season we use a text messaging service to send information about delays or changes due to weather. Sidwell tends to make decisions about closings and delays as late as possible, and so we cannot always rely on the school to make these decisions for us. It is safe to say that if school is delayed because of bad weather, then our early morning practices will be cancelled. It seems like a good idea to gear up our text messaging service earlier this year (we usually wait until we are on the water) and you will find a link below. Rainedout.com is a free service and at the bottom of each text you will see a message from a sponsor. It is fairly straightforward, but here are a few helpful hints: 1. Make sure your cell phone is handy, as the website will send you a validation code instantly and you need the code to activate the service. 2. Go to http://www.rainedout.com/ 3. In the white search box, type in Sidwell Rowing 4. Click on Sidwell Rowing 5. Start the sign-up process 6. When asked, subscribe to "parents" or "all rowers" 7. Logout It is unlikely that we will all be signed up by tomorrow morning, and the weather forecast changes by the hour, so please check your e-mail in the morning for updates. Liz Britt
