We owe you a big thanks! Because of YOUR SUPPORT, scientists have just announced an exciting step forward in the goal of preventing muscle paralysis.
Through research funded in part by the Greater Philadelphia Chapter (thanks to your help), researchers conducting a study with mice were able to demonstrate that the introduction of a MuSK antibody in the SOD1 gene led to decreased detachment of motor endings from muscles, improved function of the diaphragm and respiration, reduced loss of spinal motor neurons, and modest extension of survival of the mice.
