I would like to invite you to a dinner and discussion focused on the *emerging
role of France in global affairs*, and consequently *the changing role of
the US in the world order*.


This dinner is next week, *Wednesday, April 4th*, at the *residence of
French Ambassador Gerard Araud (2221 Kalorama Road NW)*. We will enjoy
cocktails at *6:30 pm, dinner and discussion at 7:00 pm, and adjourned at
9:00 pm. *


French President Emmanuel Macron will soon be hosted by President Trump in
Washington — and topics like collective responses to Russian aggression,
Iran, Syria, climate change, terrorism, global trade, or whether nations
see alliances as ad hoc clusters or believe in more resilient compacts are
going to be defining for Macron and Trump. *Institute Montaigne Director
Laurent Bigorgne will be among our special guests and offer a provocation.*
