Deer Hunter,

I'm heading to Newark airport for a flight to Rome where Jeanne, the kids and I will spend the next 8 days.

Before I depart, I just wanted to tell you that Ashley was absolutely fantastic this afternoon --and your dad was tremendous as well!

They were the highlight of the 75th Father of the year celebration--they really were.

There was not a dry eye in the house after Ashley spoke. I really felt bad for your dad -- his first words were: "that's not fair".

Everyone laughed and understood exactly what he meant.

And then he spoke beautifully about family and faith and fatherhood. He was tremendous.

We will be back next Friday. I hope I can see soon thereafter to thank you in person.
