I am writing to let you know that the Security Council members agreed yesterday on the date for the first eliminatory round of elections for UN Secretary-General - *July 21st.* The make or break moment is therefore just around the corner. I am arriving in the US on June 22nd, and intend to stay there until July 1st. This is almost certainly going to be the period in which the US will decide through the inter-agency process on which position to take with regard to all the candidates whose names will be on the ballot. As we previously spoke, three options will be available: "Encourage", "Discourage", or "Neutral". In order to remain in the race, one would have to assure that Washington opts for either first or third option when it comes to his / her name. I hope to be in DC on June 28th and 29th. Following our previous conversations, I would be immensely grateful for an opportunity to meet with VPOTUS National Security Advisor Colin Kahl. I am also open to all other meetings that you recommend under the circumstances. I hope you may be in the position to help in this regard. Warm regards from Kiev, Vuk Sent from my BlackBerry 10 smartphone
