[http://www.usglc.org/downloads/2015/09/usglc-logo.jpg] Dear Board of Directors, In the past 24 hours, two important op-eds have been published that help shape the debate around our agenda. Worth reading and retweeting. * Economic Case: USGLC’s Vice Chair Andrew Tisch reinforced our message, with a particular focus on the economic case for foreign assistance in an op-ed published on FoxNews.com<http://fxn.ws/25zzIoZ>. Given the growing skepticism on why Americans should remain globally engaged economically, this op-ed is not only compelling, but well-timed and signed by a business leader with enormous credibility. Please share the op-ed on Twitter<http://twitter.com/USGLC/status/738075598690603008> and Facebook<http://www.facebook.com/USGLC/posts/10153696275142773>. * National Security Case: Former Commandants of the Marines and Coast Guard – General James Conway and Admiral James Loy – published an op-ed in TIME<http://ti.me/286iXnN> with three lessons for the next Commander-in-Chief. These leaders from our National Security Advisory Council make a compelling case for why threats “have become more resistant to bullets” and how development and diplomacy are vital for keeping our nation strong and secure. Please share the op-ed on Twitter<http://twitter.com/USGLC/status/738423306953588738> and Facebook<http://www.facebook.com/USGLC/posts/10153698636262773>. Clinton’s National Security Speech Today. Our team will be watching Secretary Clinton’s speech in San Diego this afternoon – which is expected to be her most significant foreign policy speech since Trump became the presumptive GOP nominee. I wouldn’t be surprised to see familiar USGLC themes articulated and like we did after Mr. Trump’s major foreign policy address, we will circulate a summary of relevant points. Best, Liz Liz Schrayer, USGL
