Good afternoon, Members of the Board. As many of you may know, Pope Francis will be addressing WFP’s Executive Board and Staff on Monday, June 13th. This is the first papal visit to WFP and a landmark opportunity to shine a spotlight on the issues around ending hunger. https://www.wfp.org/news/news-release/pope-francis-speak-ending-hunger-first-visit-world-food-programme We are pleased to inform you that Rick was personally invited by Ertharin Cousin to attend this momentous event, and he will travel to Rome this weekend. This also means that Rick will convene Tuesday’s Board Meeting from WFP’s Rome HQ, which is also a significant event in and of itself.
