Robert, if you thought July was hot, it wasn't just you. It was California's hottest month out of the last 1,483 -- since we started recording monthly temps at all under President Grover Cleveland.

Our planet's warming drastically, and anybody who continues to shut their eyes to climate change is unfit to lead -- especially if that person's denying climate change from inside the White House. Because let's be real: The impacts of climate change are already being felt, and they'll get worse without people who are willing to do something about it. Clearly, waiting around for Washington to take the lead isn't an option -- so I'm not going to.

CA has always been the state that steps up to lead the nation in fighting climate change -- and we're proud of it. But if we're going to keep taking charge, we first need to show that we're all on board. I need you to take a stand with me now:

* Combat Climate Change and Put California on a Path to 100% Renewable Energy: It's a moneymaker for us and a classic example of California innovation.

* Counter the Threat of Wildfires: I'll take active steps to reduce the risk of fire, protect our state's watersheds and make our forests more resilient.


We've witnessed too many lives lost and homes destroyed by wildfires alone this year, and we know climate change exacerbates that danger.
