Four proposals for central Ituango

Three consortia and joint venture, from Colombia, Brazil, Italy and Spain, are interested in building major works of the hydroelectric Ituango, the largest in the country.

According to EPM, the execution of these works will start in the second half of the year are the backbone of the project. The proposals of the proponents ranged from 1.88 to 2.37 billion pesos.

ICB was convened in October last year and 21 firms, local and foreign, acquired the contract specifications.

The process culminated today with the participation of consortia and joint venture. The first is the Ituango CCC Consortium composed of companies Camargo Correa and Coninsa Conconcreto Ramon H. It is worth noting that this same consortium was commissioned to build the project Porce III, so you already have some advantage over their competitors.

The list follows the Temporary AOCO includes companies Acciona, OAS, El Condor and Underground Works. Another is Pescadero Ituango consortia of companies that are part of Andrade Gutierrez, Impregilo SPA and Conciviles.

The latter is a consortium consisting of WHO Ituango Norberto Odebrecht, Mincivil and CSS (Construction Solarte Solarte), which also bid for the construction of Porce III.

The main civil works Ituango hydroelectric project include the construction of the dam (rockfill a wall 225 meters high), the landfill, driving tunnels and underground powerhouse, a building that will house the eight generating units Francis type that will generate 2,400 megawatts (MW) of power.

An interdisciplinary group of EPM will analyze the four components proposed in their technical, financial and legal. The contract will be awarding the second half of this year.
