Friends in 5, please see the announcement below regarding this Friday’s SFS Dance Marathon fundraiser; please note that 5th and 6th graders are invited from 6-7:30 p.m. ONLY.

Don't Let Your Student Miss This Special Event!

MS parents, we know this is a busy time of year, but this is a do-not-miss! The entire middle school student body will come together to have a great time for a great cause this Friday, May 11 from 6-10 pm, and we hope your middle schooler can join in the fun! It's a special Dance Marathon to benefit the inspirational, life-saving programs at Children's National Medical Center here in DC. MS students will spend the evening together in the Sidwell Friends cafeteria dancing their hearts out for a great cause. They will enjoy terrific food, Pinkberry yogurt, tons of activities and games (with prizes! a photo booth! fun theme activities!), and great music. Young patients from Children's National will be there to join in the fun. Sidwell students will dance, participate in activities, and have fun for the entire four hours without sitting down! Best of all, the kids will show what kids can do when they devote their energies to helping other kids who need their help.

In order to participate in the Dance Marathon, your child must bring in the pledge form he/she received at school with your signature as permission for participation. Pledging is absolutely optional, but we do need your signature as permission to participate. If you would like to contribute or help your child get pledges from family and friends for his/her participation, great! An extra copy of the pledge form is attached. We hope you will make time for your child to participate in this special service event with MS students from all grades. The activities will all take place in the cafeteria and will be supervised by SFS faculty, parents, and staff and volunteers from Children's National. Parents should park in the garage and walk your child to the cafeteria; please walk to the cafeteria to pick him/her up at the evening's conclusion.
