Club Pink Parents - I wanted to thank you all for your help and commitment this season. It takes all of you to make the team succeed! And also, thank you all for the kind notes, cards and gifts. They are much very appreciated. My greatest gift will be watching the girls' careers over the next 4 or 5 years and beyond. They are a strong bunch with tons of character!! I know they will make a future impact on the game of lacrosse.

I feel I know each of them well enough that if you ever have any questions about their athletic careers that I might be able to help with, please do not ever hesitate to ask.


1) I received an email from the coach of the Check it Out "A" team asking if any of our CP players would have interest in playing in the Lax Max tournament this coming weekend in Pikesville, MD. He said they could use some players for two games Saturday afternoon and two games on Sunday afternoon. I believe Kathryn Maloney will be playing with them. 2) I have received the season dues from most of you, but there are a few who have forgotten to send. Please send a check for $95 to "Club Pink" and mail to the address below.


3) Lastly, if anyone is looking for a good local summer camp, the one below is a great one. It has a great coaching staff, led by Caitlyn McFadden who is a great person, player and coach. Annelise cannot attend due her summer job, but Allaire will be attending and so we are happy to carpool!

Instruction Exclusively by National Team and College Lacrosse Players and Coaches


Camp Features

-18 hours of expert instruction by a staff exclusively comprised of current and former college and national team lacrosse players and coaches over the course of three days
-Two full days of instruction by Caitlyn McFadden (see career highlights below)

Age Groups

Ages 7-18 are welcome. Age groups are based on the grade the camper will enter the following school year. The age groups are:
4th grade and under
5th-6th graders
7th-8th graders
9th-12th graders
Some age groups may be combined depending on enrollment size at each level. Goalies will be divided by age and experience level.

This camp provides instruction for every position (attack, middies, defense and goalies). Goalies will have their own coaches.


Experience

This camp is beneficial for experienced players and beginners. Because the camp is properly staffed the coaching staff can give the attention players of all skill levels deserve. Less experienced players will benefit from the focus on fundamentals. Experienced players will benefit from learning how to perfect their fundamentals from college and national team players and coaches. Perfecting fundamentals is how good players become great players.

Camp Curriculum

Individual Offensive Skills: Passing, catching, stick protection, dodging, shooting (inside, outside, and on the run shots), ground balls, and draws.

Individual Defensive Skills: Footwork, defensive position, body position, forcing opponents to weak hand, basic stick checks and takeaway stick checks

Goalies: Proper warm up, stance and positioning, shot stopping (close, mid-range, outside), rebounds, clearing and outlet passes, understanding team defense and communication, being a vocal leader, mental aspects of the game. All goalie coaches have college goaltending playing or coaching experience.

Team Concepts & Lacrosse IQ: All team concepts taught are universal to the sport of lacrosse for any team at any level and include draws, off ball movement, transition offense (clears and fast breaks), transition defense (rides and defending fast breaks), and team defense.

Skill Competitions for Prizes: Fastest shot, hot shot (accuracy on the run), draw control tournament

NCSA: National Collegiate Scouting Association lecture - Learn the 5 things you need to know and 5 things you need to do to be recruited. (for 13-18 year-olds and their parents)

8:00am-8:15am: Warm up & stretch

8:15am-10:15am: Station work: 4 Stations- Stick skills and offense. Goalies in separate stations. Stations are divided by age groups.

10:15am-11:00am: Skill competitions for prizes

11:00am-11:30am: Lunch

11:30am-12:30pm: Autograph session & film session

12:30pm-1:00pm: Team concepts and lacrosse IQ
