Dear Robert, In January 2011, Gov. Walker (R-WI) told a local billionaire that he'd pursue a "divide and conquer" strategy against Wisconsin workers. That billionaire ended up giving $510,000 to Walker's campaign--more than any other single donor. Worse yet, Walker's strategy will be used over and over by Republicans across the country in the months to come. It's become the hallmark of a party that believes it can only move forward by tearing other people apart. But there's another way. The recalls started when regular people decided that they weren't up for another round of divide and conquer and decided to band together. Some marched in protests, and those who couldn't sent a little something to Wisconsin Democrats via ActBlue. $510,000 sounds like a lot of dough, but ActBlue users sent more than that to Wisconsin in the first few weeks of the protests. [ https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/page/beatwalker?amount&recurring$&refcode 120523 ] That's the kind of power that a $15 recurring contribution to ActBlue buys. It's the power to make yourself heard even if you don't have a cool half million to toss at a candidate. It's the power to elect folks who don't have billionaires rushing to line their pockets. It's the power to reshape American politics. If you think that's something worth fighting for, then please: Support ActBlue [ https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/page/beatwalker?amount&recurring$&refcode 120523 ] From all of us at ActBlue, thanks.
