It's unthinkable to me, but many were enraged by the president's announcement. And we know the Republican Party will use this issue to launch despicable attacks against President Obama and our candidates.

We have come too far to let that happen. The best way to make it clear that the American people support marriage equality is to stand with President Obama today. We have just 50,000 signatures to go to meet our goal – can we count on you to be one of them?

Jason -

Today is an historic day in America. This afternoon, President Obama announced his support for marriage equality for all Americans.

I am standing with the President and I hope you will, too. As a result of taking this stand, President Obama will face attacks from every corner of the Republican Party. Everyone from Mitt Romney to the tea partiers will unite behind this issue to try to end his presidency.

That's why it is so important that we stand with the President now. We must ensure the basic rights of all Americans are protected, and ensure that the accomplishments that we've fought so hard to achieve already will not be overturned by a Republican president and Congress.
