I want to thank you for your outpouring of support, we've seen incredible momentum this week for World Food Program USA’s Live Below the Line campaign. Yesterday, my mom Dr. Jill Biden joined me in taking the challenge <http://usa.wfp.org/blog/we-welcome-dr-jill-biden-second-lady-united-states-team-wfpusa-live-below-line> to eat and drink on less than the extreme poverty line—$1.50 per day. During a blogger call with WFP USA President & CEO Rick Leach, my mom and I discussed the importance of global food security with supporters. Later that afternoon, I appeared with my brother Beau Biden on MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell <http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOn-Bsd6-wU&list=UU929BePlezOlKunT03nPXpg&index=1> , where we talked about the challenge of eating on $1.50 a day and the power of school meals to help break the cycle of poverty.


The campaign has been so successful that I have upped my goal to $15,000 – enough to provide 60,000 school meals to children in the world’s poorest countries.
