Hope all is well with you. In the midst of an always busy spring, I wanted to check back in with you.

DCVLP just had its most successful fundraiser yet. On May 9th we had over 230 people attend our event at the Turkish Residence and we raised over $112,000. As co-chair, we worked on reaching out to new supporters and more than doubled last year's attendance. We also were able to ensure that all money raised at the event will go to serving clients as we had an underwriter. The evening's speakers were a domestic violence client and her volunteer attorney. Everyone was moved by the client's story and heartened by the outcome. She is a survivor and DCVLP gave her the support to start a new life.

Tomorrow we are meeting with Karma. We are puzzled why we have been unable to join the DC Coalition Against Domestic Violence. We submitted an application over a year ago. I thought you might have some insight. We have been working hard to reach out to organizations that can help us better serve our clients. We've already developed strong relationships with organizations that help our clients with housing and jobs.

I also wanted to check back with you regarding the 2011 LAV grant. Is there a date set for the RFP?
