<P>The Missouri Supreme Court released its ruling on the pending court case regarding the gerrymandered congressional districts that Congressman Carnahan has been fighting for nearly a year to overturn. </P>
<P>The campaign is pressing forward having now won the endorsement of all five St. Louis City Democratic ward committees that have voted to date. These results provide a clear indication that when the voters have a chance to choose for themselves the best fighter for the region, there's no question that Congressman Carnahan is the right choice. </P>

--Campaign will further define contracts between Carnahan and Clay--</STRONG></P>
<P >"I stood up and fought for fair districts for our state and for three whole districts that our population deserved here in the St. Louis region. I did this against great odds in the Republican controlled legislature that was helped by Congressman Clay and his allies as well as the Republican judges that dominated the court process. </P>
<P>What this means is that for the next decade we are now stuck with the badly gerrymandered districts that needlessly divide our communities into bizarre animal shaped districts - the "Dead Lizard" (5th CD), the "3-Headed Toad" (4th CD), and "Lake Lobster Claw" (3rd CD). This means diminished clout for the St. Louis region with only two whole congressional districts. This means lopsided party representation in our state that is famous for being evenly balanced politically with only two Democratic seats out of eight. </P>
<P>Thanks to Congressman Clay and his deal with state Republicans and his attempt to keep a politically comfortable seat for himself, St. Louis no longer has two seats in the U.S. House, we're now down to one single seat. Only one seat, not two, to support President Obama, only one seat, not two, to win back the majority for Democrats in the U.S. House. Congressman Clay failed a key test of leadership by not standing up for the people of our region or our Democratic Party. During the weeks ahead, this will be one of many defining issues of our campaign that will help spur a healthy debate about who is the best fighter for the newly merged 1st Congressional District."</P>
