Mark/Hunter, Any chance we can get the VP to stop in and say hello. We are having a Job Council meeting at the WH from 12:30-1:30 pm today. They will be meeting in Jeff Zients, (President Obama's Chief Performance Office and Head of OMB). conf room with the Jobs council and then going to the MESS for a discussion over lunch. The following will be there from the Corporation for Travel Promotion: * Stephen Cloobeck, CEO Diamond Resorts Int. and Chairman of the Board for CTP * George Fertitta Chief Executive Officer NYC & Company and Vice - Chair of the Board for CTP * Jim Evans, CTP CEO (my boss) A quick fly by with a kind word about Mark and I will be huge! Below is a brief outline of what they will be discussing with Jeff Zients and the Jobs Council today. I've also attached a fact sheet on CTP, for what it's worth. Even if Allen or Brian did a fly by it would be great. Thanks Hunter, Mark and I will be at the book signing next week. See you there. As always thanks for all of your support. It's clear that the voices from the White House Jobs Council are more focused on how to help the CTP than they are on oversight and bureaucracy. I think we all walked away feeling that this can be a tremendous opportunity to leverage industry and continue to garner the full weight and support of the administration at the highest levels. We are currently expecting representatives to attend the Friday meeting from Hyatt, United Airlines, Universal Parks, American Express, and potentially Sabre. We think this will be a great session and an opportunity to highlight the progress that CTP has made and to get valuable feedback from senior travel industry experts. In terms of format, the meeting will begin with a high-level presentation on CTP (vision, key goals, key steps taken, etc). We are currently expecting to have no more than 5-8 high level slides to go over, which may include George's examples of coop marketing from NYC & Co. We will need to discuss this tomorrow in terms of format and to determine our presentation approach. Jeff Zients has asked us to provide him in advance with four key questions that will be the focus of in-depth conversation. These questions should really focus on key areas where it would be helpful for CTP to get feedback from senior-level executives. Some ideas that we discussed in today's meeting are below, but need to be refined tomorrow morning so that they can be provided to Zeints by midday tomorrow (Thursday). Attendees will be given 10-15 minutes to think about these questions individually and jot down thoughts and responses. We will then move to the White House Mess, where we will facilitate a conversation around these four key questions over a working lunch. It is extremely important that these questions be well thought out, clear and achieve their intended purpose. In my opinion, nailing these questions is the most critical aspect of Friday's meeting. Here are a few preliminary thoughts on the questions, but we need to spend tomorrow morning as a team refining them. Questions for Consideration 1. What are your company's priorities as it relates to attracting international travelers to the United States? Which segments and countries are you most focused on? 2. What are your current international marketing and promotion efforts? How significant are they as part of your total marketing budget? 3. CTP outlined a few examples of joint marketing programs. Stepping back, how should CTP create and structure its marketing programs so that you will prioritize spending marketing dollars on them? In other words, how does CTP create a compelling value proposition that has your company excited about partnering with CTP? 4. What are the next steps CTP should take to begin to be considered in companies' marketing and budgetary plans for 2012? What is the best process for engagement with your company moving forward? ________________________________ No virus found in this message.
