Hello Beau, Hallie, Jill and Hunter:

I'm updating you this morning on my phone conversation with SLP Janice
which took place on Tuesday and on subsequent follow-ups.

First, Janice is fully willing to work with me in establishing the best
program for Beau. After Beau and I have explored approaches during the two
days in Asheville, I'll be able to make my recommendations. I also spoke
with Janice about the insufficiency of only 3 hours of therapy per week
and urged her to explore the possibility of longer session. I also asked
her to identify an experienced person who might come to your house for
two-hour sessions on other days of the week. This is the approach we used
in GG's case. We set up a program whereby she was seen at home as well as
at the facility. The SLP's we brought aboard for the home program followed
the approaches I suggested and we stayed in touch and modified things as we
went along in accordance with GG's responses.

Janice is now exploring an SLP who might fit the bill for the home
program. By this I mean someone who Beau feels comfortable with and
confident in, and who is experienced, and is willing to interact with me.
Likely this person will be a private practitioner. It is also likely that
you will have out-of-pocket costs (tax deductible of course).

In case you need to know ahead of time where we might be having lunch here
in Asheville, I'm thinking of the Grove Park Inn (GPI) on one of the days
(maybe if and when Hunter is here), and Chestnut downtown the other day.
The GPI is a great site and would be good for a family stay so Beau might
want to check it out as a possibility for the week in July. You can ask
the big boss or his wife about it as they've vacationed there with
friends.
