As you may know, NBC News second annual Education Nation kicked off today. This weeklong event brings together leaders from all walks of life to talk about the state of education in America. Participants include former President Clinton, Warren Buffett, Melinda Gates, Education Secretary Arne Duncan, and more than a dozen governors.


NBC News will feature special education programming across all its properties, including MSNBC, CNBC, Meet the Press, The Today Show, and NBC Nightly News. On Monday, the coverage will focus on early childhood education. I am very excited to announce that Save the Children artist ambassador Jennifer Garner and I will be on The Today Show in the 9:00am hour to talk about the issue and its role in the fight against childhood poverty in the U.S. Jennifer also will participate in a Summit panel session hosted by NBC News Chief Medical Editor Dr. Nancy Synderman, which you can watch live at EducationNation.com beginning at 9:00am, and at 12:30pm, I will be on MSNBC.
