Dear Host Committee, Greetings from GFI! I hope this message finds you well. Following our successful GFI Board Reception and Annual Meeting, I am writing to check-in with each of you around your outreach for the 2011 Fairness Award sponsorship. First, I hope everyone is as excited as we are in honoring Ms. Albina Ruiz of Peru. Many of us had the opportunity to meet her last week - and her work, her life, and her commitment embodies the essence of the Fairness Award recipient. If you haven't yet, please take the 10 minutes to view the incredible video by PBS (hosted by Robert Redford): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rN3aN0pDSAM Second, the Fairness Award Date is now *Tuesday, November 8th, 2011. *Please mark your calendars (we have updated a few pieces for your outreach as well, and the website will be up any day now with all updated event information). As you reach out to your contacts and identify new opportunities, we would welcome your feedback around the following lists: A. So far, here is our "Warm" list that we would love your help in engaging and helping to secure a commitment to sponsor this year's event. Alcoa, Caterpillar, Citibank, Exxon, Goya, GE, Goldman Sachs, Hilton, Marriott, Rio Tinto, Santander, Shell, Sprint, Syngenta, Telemundo, Univision, and Verizon B. We are also attaching for your review a targeted list of companies and US-Business Councils specifically in Peru, and Brazil and Costa Rica. C. Finally, the former President of Costa Rica and GFI's Board Chair, Jose Maria Figueres will be visiting Washington D.C. and New York on October 11th and 12th, respectively. If you think the companies and individuals you are reaching out to would benefit from a meeting with a former head of state - please email me - and we can find a way to set up some time on Jose Maria's calendar. Thank you once again for your time and support. With about 5 weeks away, I will be in touch with each of you individually early next week so we can start an aggressive push to reach our goal! Thank you and please let me know if I can help in any way.
