Is this email not displaying correctly? [1]View it in your browser. Dear Hunter: With Labor Day, hurricanes, and earthquakes now in our rear-view mirror, we're looking forward to fall at Madison. This email contains a few quick updates on our work and team members. As always, please feel free to unsubscribe at the link below if you'd like to be removed from this list. First, I'm pleased to announce that Madison's client roster now includes CG-LA Infrastructure, LLC. CG-LA is a leading international infrastructure consulting firm located in Washington, D.C. that works with companies around the world on the financing, design, and implementation of infrastructure projects This area has taken on increased prominence with the ongoing debate about competiveness and job growth in the U.S. and President Obama's proposal for an infrastructure bank. CG-LA also sponsors an annual Global Leadership Forum in Washington, which convenes hundreds of international infrastructure companies and government leaders; you can see more information here: http://www.cg-la.com/nalf3 A few updates from our team members: Mark Vlasic, a senior advisor to Madison Strategies, LLC, specializes in international law, trade and business diplomacy at Ward & Ward, PLLC, where he is a partner. A former official with the World Bank and United Nations, Mark has served as a White House Fellow and special assistant to the Secretary of Defense, and is currently an adjunct professor of law and senior fellow at Georgetown's Institute for Law, Science & Global Security. Formerly the head of operations at the World Bank's Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative, Mark has consulted with a number of governments on asset recovery matters and recently addressed a conference of justice ministers from the Western Balkans and the International Association of Prosecutors in Brazil. He is currently participating in the Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia. Mark's recent publications include "Stamping Out the Illicit Trade in Cultural Artifacts," in the Guardian; "Power, not Prisoners, is Gitmo's Ligacy," in the Washington Times, "The Prosecutor v. Muammar Gaddafi -- and a Step Closer to Justice," in the Huffington Post, "Trans-Atlantic Cooperation and a Spirit that Binds Us," for the U.S. Embassy in Belgium, and "Justice Finally Caught up with Ratko Mladic," in the New Republic. Carrie Nixon, counsel to Madison Law & Strategy Group, PLLC, is managing principal of Nixon Law Group, PLLC., which recently expanded to include commercial and business litigation, liability defense, government investigations, corporate and real estate transactions, intellectual property law, regulatory analysis, nonprofit law, and political/election law. During the past several months, Nixon Law Group resolved a major contract dispute reaching back over the past seven years between their client, an international company headquartered in Northern Virginia, and one of its main vendors. For another client, they responded to a subpoena served in Washington, D.C. at the outset of a fraud and abuse investigation by the Federal government and convinced the investigators that there was no matter worth pursuing. They also obtained a formal opinion by an Administrative Law Judge that is unprecedented in its support of their client’s actions and legal position. As always, I look forward to staying in touch, and of course greatly appreciate any referrals for legal and consulting work on strategic, regulatory, and policy matters . All best, Mike Michael Signer, Esq., Ph.D. Managing Principal Madison Law & Strategy Group, P.L.L.C. www.madisonpllc.com (703) 870-3782 (w) (434) 284-2588 (m) [12]follow on Twitter | [13]friend on Facebook | [14]forward to a friend You are on this list because you are a friend of Madison Law & Strategy Group, PLLC.
