The releases of third quarter GDP figures for Europe, Japan, and the US
have confirmed that while US growth will remain robust, the outlooks for
Europe and Japan are decidedly mixed. This dichotomy is causing monetary
policy to diverge as well, which will continue to affect dollar exchange
rates. Looming as a potential wildcard is the unambiguously positive
economic ramifications that would materialize should a deal between Iran
and six major global powers be reached next week. We explore these
issues in greater depth in the attached report, "Fourth Quarter Survey
of the Developed Economies: The US Continues to Outperform."
