In this issue: The Proof Is In The (Bread) Pudding!

Proof may be in the pudding, but Yelpers know the truth is in the eating. To demonstrate, this Weekly digs into some of the sweetest sides of bread pudding the District has to offer. Stale bread has never tasted so good!

Jima I. said: “If for nothing else, just go there to try the babka bread pudding with cinnamon ice cream. It comes out piping hot, studded with dark chocolate chips that are all melty, with the cinnamon ice cream slowly melting on top. It's worth it.”

* Puddin’ – 4.5 star rating (69 reviews)

Victoria L. said: “I just discovered heaven at a flea market. I am almost 110% that Puddin' has angels making their maple brown bread pudding in the back somewhere. It's crazy good and I can't even tell you how bad it is for you but it's way too good not to eat any.”

Jamila T. said: “This is not your typical bread pudding; it's on another level. The bread pudding had pistachio crumbs on top, drizzled with a lemon anglaise sauce, garnished with a sprig of mint, plus a scoop of mango ice cream on the side... My sweet tooth was happy!”

Who will be crowned "Miss Speed Rack Washington DC"?

Serious stirring and shaking is about to happen, thanks to Speed Rack, the all-female speed-bartending competition that raises money for breast cancer. The fourth global tour kicks off in Washington D.C., on Monday, November 10, and brings together the fastest female bartenders in the region. Contestants will compete in timed heats to make rounds of cocktails, culled from a list of 50 accepted industry-standard classic recipes, in front of a panel of judges. Expect fast-paced action, free-flowing cocktails and a rocking good time. Get your tickets to this event at speed-rack.com. All proceeds go to Breast Cancer education, research, and prevention.
