So Many Kitties Not Enough Foster Homes Last week you may have noticed that we did not send around our weekly plea for cat sponsorships. That is because we were unfortunately at maximum capacity. We were out of space to take in any more cats until we are able to secure additional foster and adoptive homes. This is very hard for us as our shelters are full and having to euthanize perfectly wonderful kitties. But we have our limit and we are at it. Honestly, money usually can solve a lot our needs. It covers vetting and transport costs which are vital to our operations. But without space, even money will not help. We simply need help marketing these special kitties for foster and adoption. So we took the week off, and were lucky to make room for a few kitties we hope to rescue this week. Our work is never ending, as you can tell. This week we need your help to find foster homes for these special kitties and sponsor our hopefuls. The people and kitties of HT THANK YOU for your support! Here is our list of kitties who need foster homes right away To foster or adopt these featured kitties please contact: jamie.nicholas@gmail.com Lady Midnight - (any home) Lady Midnight is 10 month old black DSH. She gets along fine with other cats but happy as a single. She's affectionate and playful. My impression is she can be a little sassy so prob better in a home with older kids. She'll be shy in a new home but out and about and looking for fun in a few days. Cole is scared of dogs and dislikes other cats. He's an independent guy who likes to take naps and is on a prescription diet. Which means his foster doesn't have to buy his food! He's been with us a while and he needs a foster who can take him until he goes to his forever home. He would prefer a home without small children. He needs a foster immediately as he's currently living in a spare bedroom because his foster is cat sitting. Cole - (single) URGENT Tāyặ Her owner lost his job, and they had to move. She has been staying at the empty home, because they can not take her where they are living. They visit daily, but it’s not a good situation. That home will be sold soon, and Tāyặ needs a foster home. She is 16, but in perfect health. (The vet was amazed that she is 16) Tāyặ would probably do best in a quiet home with out other pets, although maybe a friendly older cat would be OK. She has lived in a calm quiet environment in the past, but she does love attention. She likes to play with the fleecy string on a stick, sleeping on her person, and looking out the window. Shay is being returned because she is not getting along with her brother. They have tried many things to make this work, but feel they really need to rehome her. Now the owner has discovered she is pregnant, and feels that maybe the cat senses a hormonal change and that is part of the problem. She is about 2 years old, playful and happy to get attention. We are concerned for her wellbeing, and need to remove her from the home. She is urgent. Shay - URGENT Yolandi - (single) Yolandi is 3 yr old large grey DSH. She is an incredibly sweet girl who absolutely loves being pet, especially on the head and face. She follows her temp foster all around the apartment. Foster reports that she likes trying to wake her up in the morning by jumping on the bed or trying to get her to pet Yolandi. She's not a lap cat but loves to sit by her human on the sofa. She also LOVES food, though she doesn't beg too much or anything between meals. She's also playful. Foster reports that loud noises or sudden movements do make her run and hide and I worry she might be sassy with young children who want to hold her so a home with older kids best. Yolandi hates cats and my guess is she's not a fan of dogs either. Amber is 2 -3 yr old DMH solid grey female. She's affectionate but also an independent cat. Not really a lap cat but in her foster home she'd sometimes get on her foster's lap. At shelter, she seemed fine with other cats and also fine with dogs. HT adopter returning her says she's too independent and doesn't like his gf's dog who is living there now but not sure she won't in another situation. For whatever reason, I think Amber has found living with him stressful. My impression is he hasn't been paitent - trying to hold her when she doesn't want to be held, etc. Foster found her to be a nice, affectionate cat and shelter said the same. Amber - (no preference) Tonto Tonto gets a second chance! He was a stray that was brought in by a wonderful caring person that wanted to help. He is healthy, and up to date on shots. He is about 3 years old, and loves attention. He is still a little skittish from his time outside, but he wants all the love ant attention you can give him. He was treated for a UTI and now eats wet cat food, C/D feline chicken, and has had no further issues. The woman that rescued him already has 6 cats, so he needs a new home. Marlene and Maxine are two 9 month old DSH tuxedo sisters. The nicest young cats on the planet. Good with cats, dogs, kids. HT owner surrenders. Adopters decided they aren't cat people. Playful and cuddly. They are bonded so we'd love to find a foster and forever home for them together. Marlene and Maxine (bonded pair) Vannah - (any home) Vannah is currently fostered with another cat so she isn't urgent but we think she'd be happiest as a single. She is VERY shy and hiding at her current fosters house. Bridgette is a very engaging young cat who is almost dog-like in her personality. She will greet you at the door when you get home from work and say hello every morning, happy to see you. She's always interested in attention from her humans but also enjoys looking out the window and playing little cat games. She will chat with you about her day and if you're in another room, may come to find you for a quick pet before going off again on cat business. Bridgette - (any home) Ruby - (any home) Ruby is a friendly cat who does not seem bothered by other cats or dogs at her foster's house. She is easy to handle and very sweet. Dolce is currently in foster with her sister, but we would like to separate them. She is sweet, and independent.
